ale review – oregon, summer wine brewing company
Last week I paid a much overdue visit to the Craft Beer Co in Leather Lane, an excellent venue for discovering new ales, as well as old favourites.
The highlight of the evening with this West Coast IPA, brewed with US Cascade hops by Yorkshire-based Summer Wine Brewing Company. This is the sort of ale that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to a beginner; full flavoured without being overbearingly full bodied. It was fruity with a subtle bitter aftertaste. According to the website, grapefruit is the dominant fruity tasting note, but I detected strong flavours of pineapple.
