restaurant review: 103, prenzlauer berg

Simply one of the best meals I’ve had this year.

This excellent find was on Kastienallee, one of Prenzlauer Berg’s best nightspots. A modern and classy bar with fancy lamps and shiny white furnishings, this place has the added benefit of a fantastic kitchen.

For a starter I had a beetroot carpaccio with blue cheese, walnuts and balsamic vinegar. Main course of pork with prunes and chestnut mash was similarly full flavoured. I can’t remember the last time I had a meal that was simultaneously so innovative, filling, delicious and beautifully presented.

The service was warm and friendly, and we were lucky enough to get a chance to have a drink with the chef after dinner.
