Ale review: red ale, brockley brewery

I had a hard time turning down Hobgoblin at the bar in the interests of being adventurous, but was very glad I did.

I’ve had a few ok pales from Brockley Brewery in the past, but this stands out far more. A burnt and malty taste, this is bitter and warming and gets better as it gets nearer to ‘room temperature’ in a toasty pub. The perfect beer for sitting in front of s roaring fire with – and a hell of a lot punchier than its abv would suggest to boot.
