ale review: American pale ale, Clarence and Fredericks brewing

Perfect choice for a boiling hot afternoon after a long walk up Stoke Newington High Street to visit the Jolly Butchers (great ale and cider choices, highly recommend).

Like a lot of the good American pales I’ve had recently, this seemed perfectly balanced and with something a bit more interesting going on than the classic old school pale beers. Incredibly easy to drink (though that could have been the thirst induced by the blazing sun), hoppy and refreshing, but incredibly smooth on the palate with a hint of sweetness.

Hope to see more from these south London based brewers a little bit nearer to home soon.
