Ale review: red rye, windsor and eton

Well, usually the ales from this particular brewery leave me a little underwhelmed. They tend to lurk on the pumps in old man boozers with uninspiring fonts that look like they were designed in 1989.

But, upon seeing this is the Crown and Shuttle in super-hip Shoreditch, I figured I had to give this I try.

It’s full bodied and warming with a spicy front palate flavour and a depth that certainly succeeds in keeping me interested for a whole pint. I’ll revisit this in winter if I see it again. The main downfall is that it really isn’t refreshing enough for this time of year.
