ale review: Shamblemoose Amber Rye #5

This is one of the best ales I’ve had of late. A hint of liquorice on the nose and an initial palate exploding with full flavoured spice, finishing with a deep and smoky taste.

This would be a hit with any fan of rich dark beers and ruby ales (or indeed, anyone who would drink Old Peculiar far more often if it wasn’t so ‘old man’).

Dad and I both agreed that we’d never had anything quite like this. And given that the brewery is only down the road in Surrey, with any luck I should be seeing a lot more of this stuff soon.
