ALE REVIEW: Beavertown Neck Oil – Black Country Pale Ale at the Dean Swift, SE1

Today was the first time I’ve come across a beer by this Hackney Wick based brewery. And this is one pale that had plenty of personality. It had a lovely fresh citrus aroma and a refreshing taste, but also enough full flavour to make this just as satisfying as a darker beer on a cold winter’s day.

I had this with a venison scotch egg at the Dean Swift in SE1 (highly recommended for a great range of pale craft ales as well as the tasty barsnacks).

I’ll definitely be seeking out more beers from Beavertown very soon. The 8-Ball Rye IPA sounds especially appealing.
